The one on the left plays Silent Night while the scene revolves and there is a LCD light shining from above.

Emily added "Pomegranate" on her letter to Santa.
Sorry I was lame and didn't take many photos of Christmas...other people were taking some and I'll share if I get them! I was just relaxing and enjoying the day...I got everything I wanted...a spa gift certificate, a one cup coffee maker, and a new TYR swimsuit...and hugs!
Emily has been participating in drama after school. This is the play she was in last week. It is an African story about a spider named Anansi that tries to trick the forest animals so that she can steal their food- but of course she gets tricked in the end. Emily was obviously an elephant...and played her part very well!
Here are a couple of pictures from the girls' Christmas Program at school. I'll spare you the video- as Emily was hidden behind someone, and Paige's was pretty long.
We've had a really nice Christmas. The kids got almost everything they wanted and it was nice spending time with extended family. Chris is engaged in his new PS3 game, and the kids don't really know what to play with first...but almost always want to play with the same thing at the same time. We're looking forward to teaching Jack & Paige how to ride their new bikes...as soon as the rain clears up and we can pry them away from Lego Batman!
Emily won a Christmas Card contest at school (among the 3rd grade). I never got to see the actual card...this is just a photocopy. She won a $75 gift card to Target! We've convinced her to wait until after Christmas to spend it.
Emily's All-Star soccer team went to two tournaments. The first- she played with the "B" team in the Mesa tournament. It was dreadfully cold and a little rainy, but the girls did really well. Aunt Ruth was still in town for this, so we picked her up-although if I were her, I'd rather stay in my nice warm hotel room. The second tournament was this past weekend in Coronado. The weather and setting were beautiful, but the parents could have been a little better behaved! This time Emily was on the "A" team. They ended up placing second and the girls were glad to get a medal. I'm just glad that soccer season is finished for a few months.
Just wanted to give a quick "shout out" to Baby Trend. My neighbors were moving to Okinawa and while cleaning out their garage, they were going to get rid of their jogging stroller, so I decided to take it and order replacement parts to fix it up...all it really needed was a new fabric seat. Well, turns out they don't have parts for this model any more so they said I could just send it to them and they would replace it with a brand new one! They even paid for shipping. They sent me a FedEx label and I sent it on a Monday...on Thursday I had a brand new stroller! Thanks Jessica & Baby Trend!
The kids got to spend some more time with Aunt Ruth (due to the conference Uncle Roger had in San Diego) and they had a great time at Balboa Park...it was all decked out for the season.
Yes, once in a while they act like they love each other! :)
P.S. If you're wondering what is on Paige's face...it's a tattoo of an orca with a Santa hat. Paige has been plastering a lot of tattoos on herself lately.
Emily likes to remind Colby that she's a month older than him.
Lots of pictures taken for the benefit of Dad who is currently deployed.
Padawan Emily & Paige, and Youngling Jack.
Colby's big b-day gift...a new paintball gun.
The kids were invited to their neighbor/ friend's birthday party last week. They had a super-fun time training to be Jedi. There was a very elaborate obstacle course complete with low crawl, hot lava, asteroids, and Jack's personal favorite...shooting Darth Vader with a Nerf gun. He spent the whole party doing this. They also had relays that included freeing Han from carbonite (action figure in ice) and bombing the Death Star (with water balloons). The kids had fun fighting with light sabers and took a short break to eat pizza and the R2-D2 cake that I made. Happy Birthday Colby...he's such a sweet kid.
