Swimming Lessons

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. We are all settled in now so I will be playing catch up with all the photos.

These photos are from the Carlsbad swim complex back in the beginning of August. Emily and Paige are swimming now. Jack can almost swim. At least I think that if he ever fell in a pool he could make it to the side and crawl out. We have a community pool where we live now. We don't go as often as the kids would like (which would be every day).

Our Tomato Hornworm

The kids thought this was a great caterpillar, but it will actually turn into a moth after it gets done devouring our humongous cherry tomato plant!

Chris' new time waster...um...I mean hobby...

He (along with the help of my cousin, John) has already replaced a few parts on it including tearing out the carpet, cleaning it and reinstalling it. The hard part was replacing and painting the whole dash. He's looking forward to getting it repainted in the future.

Last of the Beach Photos

We had fun all week last week at Camp Pendleton's Del Mar beach. The cousins got to hang out. I tried kyaking and surfing for the first time. The campfires and s'mores were great, but I have to say that nothing beats sleeping in a bed that DOESN'T have sand in it!

Triathlon

There was a "Hard Corps" triathlon going on while we were at the beach...so we went to check out the race.

Happy 7th Birthday Paige!

Paige had another great birthday at the beach. This time I didn't make the cake...because I didn't have an oven! She enjoyed all the dinosaurs, transformers, pokemon, bionicle, building sets, stuffed animals, clothes, games, art supplies, and birthday money she received. A big thank you to everyone! She has been very busy trying out all her new gifts.

Sea Creatures

Luckily, this enormous sand crab was already dead when they found it...it was kind of creepy...blech!

Just some of the things the kids collected on their many walks with Chrissy in the early am. They found lots of crabs (regular, sand, and hermit) mussels, barnacles, snails, sand dollars, and all kinds of sea shells...and a few starfish.
