Swimming Lessons

We started swim lessons today (on Camp Pendleton). We were supposed to start yesterday, but there was a little rain with lightning. The girls did great and Jack and I had fun in the parent-tot class.

Let there be cake!

This is the final project for Wilton Course 3 (fondant and tiered cakes). Our teacher was so proud of all her students that she invited all the shoppers in Michael's to come in and see us put the finishing touches on. She said a cake like this could sell for $750+...unfortunately, this cake has no purpose...need to invite some people over to eat! :)

Follow up: This cake was donated to Brighton Gardens Senior Living (where my grandpa lives)...my mom took it to them and she said they were pretty impressed :)

Emily's New Friend, Sasha

After nearly two months of hard work, Emily completed her "Good Girl Chart". She read books, helped with the dishes, picked up doggy-doo, and many other helpful things around the house. For her reward, she chose to go to Teddy Crafters and create her own teddy. She chose a panda, put a heart inside, gave her brown eyes, helped stuff her, and dressed her in a bumble bee dress. Then she named her Sasha and determined all her favorites (including sushi and bamboo) and made it official on her adoption papers. She is very proud. Upon completion of her next chart she has chosen to go on a date with Mommy to Red Lobster!

Mommy is such a Slave-Driver!!

The little shaved patch on her leg is from where the vet put in her IV when they had to put her"under" to remove a foxtail from her ear.

The San Diego County (Del Mar) Fair

Emily won tickets to the fair by winning a coloring contest through the "PennySaver" (4 tickets, parking, 20 ride tickets, and 4 drinks). We had a great time going on rides, seeing the animals, collections, exhibits, and eating all that indulgent fair food. We rented a stroller for Paige since she said she just couldn't walk anymore (after 1 hr). Of course, Jack felt it necessary to commandeer her vehicle since it was a cool car.
