Thanksgiving Week Camping at the Beach

Happy Thanksgiving! We spent the week at Del Mar beach on Camp Pendleton. We had a lot fun even though it got cold sometimes. Lots of family, friends, games, campfires, and food!

Jack and Mia Helping with the dishes.

There must have been some huge paintball battle before we got to the beach. These had been raked up with a tractor.

Now this isn't something you see all the time. I guess they need to move the lifeguard towers around. Jack loved watching...

Fear Factor Fun!
The kids had to pull gummi worms out of jell-o with their teeth for a relay.
Here, Chris is explaining how he obtained some chocolate covered flies (raisins) that the kids had to eat.
These kids are eating "pig snot" (green cool-whip) to get to the eyeball gum and blow a bubble. They were actually gagging until they figured out that it didn't really taste bad.
These buckets are filled with spaghetti, sardines, rabbit food pellets and other disgusting stuff that the kids had to dig in to find eyeballs and plastic bug while blindfolded. It really stank!

Paige is the one hanging upside down like Spidey.

Here she is swinging like a monkey.

And this is her rolling like a tumble weed...

Paige, Emily's, and Chris' designs

These are pictures from about three different events. Chris and I dressed up for the first time since we've been married...because we had a couple parties to go to. We got Jack a Thomas the Tank Engine costume, but he refused to wear it. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures from trick-or-treating. We brought a wagon to pull Jack around in, but he decided that he'd just throw his candy bag in the wagon and pull it around himself. He caught on very fast to the SOP of ringing door bells , saying "Ah-treat", collecting candy, and saying "Ank-you", and then putting his bag in the wagon and running to the next house. The girls were running around with a group of friends.
