Palm Springs Day 3: Moorten Botanical Garden

We actually managed to skip the pool this day. We walked over to the botanical garden that was right next door to our hotel. It was mostly cacti and desert plants. A big thanks to Mom and Wayne for our great getaway!

Palm Springs Day 2: Living Desert Zoo

Another fun filled day...We went to the living desert garden and zoo. There was a LOT of cacti, some very grumpy goats, and a fantastic model train display that Jack (& Wayne) LOVED. Of course we had to follow up this trip with another dip in the pool!

Palm Springs Day 1: Aerial Tram & Snow Fun

On the first day of our trip we stopped in Temecula for breakfast then headed up to Mt. San Jacinto for an amazing aerial tram ride. It is a circular tram and the floor rotates slowly beneath you so you can see from all sides. That is, IF you could see through the 80 people on board. Once at the top we ventured off into the snow. It was quite warm (50s) and we made a snowman and snowdog. There were Asian tourists who wanted to take our picture with our creation. Then after lunch we headed back down the mountain and to our hotel in Palm Springs where the kids immediately shed their snow gear and put on their swimsuits to enjoy the outdoor pool and hot tub. Gee...snow and swim in one day!
