Mall of the Emirates located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is one of the largest shopping malls outside of North America. But that is not what makes it unique. Although the Mall features the usual amenities of a large shopping center, its claim to fame is something altogether new for a desert environment... specifically, a one-of-a-kind indoor ski complex.

Hmm, Barbie looks a little different to me...



Ski Dubai: Ski Dubai is housed inside a huge 22,500 m2 metal fuselage packed with plenty of groomed artificial snow. The first indoor ski destination in the Middle East, the nearly six acre dome houses five runs (some even black diamond) and a real chairlift that rises some thirty levels. Temperatures are kept at a constant -2o C.




And of course....No mall is complete without a McDonald's and a Starbucks!
